According to Islamic doctrine, a woman is inferior to or lower in status than a man. A Kafir (non-Muslim) woman is lower in status than an Islamic woman, and she can be made a slave by capture in jihad. Muslim women are treated like property. They have very few rights compared to Western women and I don’t mean abortion! The treatment of women in Islam is antithetical to the idea of human equality. The husband owns his wife and can pretty much do with her as he pleases. Men may beat their wives under sharia law. The Qur’an explicitly encourages this type of behavior. Also, it’s based on the most revered Hadith.
Additionally, women can’t deny their husband’s sex. There’s no such thing as marital rape of a woman by her husband. So if a Muslim man wants to rape his wife she has no legal recourse since it’s not a crime.
A Kafir woman can be used as a sex-slave as this is morally acceptable according to the sharia law of political Islam. Mohammed himself had Kafir female captives whom he used as sex-slaves.
It’s so bad for women in Islamic countries that, due to the concept of honor, a woman who is raped can be killed in a so-called honor killing by her own relatives for bringing shame to the family. Honor killings are common in Islamic-majority countries, and in some places in the West with many Muslim immigrants, the practice is also occurring.
Also, it’s interesting to look at rape in Islamic countries. Very very few rapists are ever brought to justice. This reflects the low-status women have in Islamic theology and codified under sharia law.
Koran 4:34 Allah has made men superior to women because men spend their wealth to support them. Therefore, virtuous women are obedient, and they are to guard their unseen parts as Allah has guarded them. As for women whom you fear will rebel, admonish them first, and then send them to a separate bed, and then beat them. But if they are obedient after that, then do nothing further; surely Allah is exalted and great!
Koran 33:59 Messenger! Command your wives and daughters and the wives of the believers to not let their veils fall down. Therefore, they will be recognized and not be assaulted. Allah is forgiving and merciful!
Koran 2:223 Your women are your plowed fields: go into your fields when you like, but do some good deed beforehand and fear Allah. Keep in mind that you will meet Him. Give good news to the believers.
Koran 33:50 Messenger! We allow you your wives whose dowries you have paid, and the slave-girls Allah has granted you as spoils of war, and the daughters of your paternal and maternal uncles and aunts who fled with you to Medina, and any believing woman who gives herself to the Messenger, if the Messenger wishes to marry her. This is a privilege for you only, not for any other believer. We know what We have commanded the believers concerning wives and slave-girls. We give you this privilege so you will be free from blame. Allah is forgiving and merciful!
Koran 23:1-11 The successful ones will be the believers who are humble in their prayers who avoid vain conversation, who contribute to the needy, and who abstain from sex (except with their wives or slaves [slaves are bought or taken in battle], in which case they are free from blame, but those who exceed these limits are sinners). Those who honor their promises and contracts and who pay strict attention to their prayers will inherit Paradise. They will dwell there forever.
Under sharia law, a woman cannot bring a lawsuit in court unless she has 7 male witnesses. In many Muslim countries, women aren’t allowed to drive. In a majority of Muslim countries, a woman may not go out in public unless she’s accompanied by a male relative of a certain minimum age as her escort. Also in some Muslim countries such as Afghanistan, women aren’t permitted to go to school. In a majority of Muslim countries, women are required by sharia law to wear some type of head covering such as a hijab or niqab. Even full body covering such as the burqa is required in certain Islamic countries.
Also, note that a Muslim man can divorce his wife for any reason no matter how trivial, and yet she can’t initiate a divorce against her husband. These conditions and forms of oppression are for married Muslim women. The plight of non-Muslim women in many Muslim-majority countries is even worse. Many single Christian women are raped by their male Muslim employers and nothing is done about it. Young Christian teenage women can be kidnapped and forced to marry Muslim men in many Muslim countries.
Basically, a 7th-century barbaric mindset towards the treatment of women is still prevalent in the 21st century in Muslim countries as codified under sharia law.
One would think there would be a major outcry from Western feminist groups, yet they are for the large part silent. This is due to the unholy alliance between Islam and Leftism. They both view Christianity as the enemy. So they join forces to promote Islam and bash Christianity. It’s ironic that feminists support Islam since feminism is strictly forbidden in Islamic sharia law.
In stark contrast to the shameful and deplorable treatment of women in Islam, women are treated totally differently in Christianity.
Christianity was revolutionary in giving women high status and full equality before God. At the time of the New Testament Church, women were essentially treated as property in the Roman Empire, and also throughout the world. In the Bible, husbands are exhorted to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. This high standard is found nowhere in Islam. In Christian-majority countries women have full legal equality with men and are treated equally under Christian theology as well.
