• What Dreams May Come

    I wish to slumber
    A refreshing sleep
    So pure and deep

    I’ll drift into unconsciousness
    And dream
Reality is not as it may seem

    I’m in the enchanted forest
    I visit Avalon
    And wake up at dawn

    I was a Templar Knight
Saving a beautiful damsel in the night
    From a terrifying fright

    Next, I was crusading
In Jerusalem, I fought the Saracen
    These Satanic men

We took back the Holy Land
“Deus Vult!” we yelled out loud
Of our victory we were proud

    I woke up finally
And marveled at all I dreamt
    I was exhausted and spent

  • All You Can Eat

    I spied a tasty lamb
I’ll eat it with some baked ham

I’ll finish everything on my plate
    It will all taste great

I need a juicy ribeye steak
I’ll have it with a clam bake

Shrimp scampi is sure to please
    I’ll have some Gouda cheese

A roasted turkey is very nice
I’ll have fresh oysters over ice

A footlong Italian hoagie made my day
    I’ll eat it without delay

A lobster tail with butter I’ll consume
I better leave, in my belly, some room

A bowl of clam chowder I’ll devour
I’ll have some jumbo shrimp sweet and sour

  • My Childhood Christmas

    There is nothing like
    The excitement of Christmas morning
While Mommy and Daddy are snoring

    My sisters and I
    Wake up at dawn
    Today Christ was born

    We get our parents
    Then begin opening gifts
    Outside are snowdrifts

    Our gorgeous Christmas tree
    With its blinking colored lights
    Such beautiful sights

    A mountain of gifts
    Awaited us to open
We tore into them before a word was spoken

    We feast on fruit cake
And sip hot cocoa with whipped cream
The holiday magic feels like a dream

    On the radio
    We hear Christmas songs
People are listening by the throngs

    Finally, I curl up
    In my warm bed
While dreams of Christmas swirl in my head

  • Thanksgiving

    We’re looking forward
    To a Thanksgiving feast
    Our appetites are released

There will be a plump turkey
    Roasted to perfection
    It’s a good selection

    Homemade stuffing
    Will surely be a delight
    It’s prepared right

    We’ll have sweet potatoes
    And mashed potatoes too
It will be a pleasure to chew

    Brussel sprouts will please
Corn in butter sauce is delicious
    The cranberry sauce is nutritious

    Pumpkin pie for dessert
A cold glass of apple cider I need
    This Thanksgiving I’ll feed

  • Halloween 2024

    No trick-or-treaters came
    Oh what a shame

I had chili and Taco Bell
    It sure was swell

Mommy and I listened to tunes
    Coldplay and the Moody Blues

Vi and I had a nice chat
We want a Maine Coon cat

    I celebrated Reformation Day
    Posting memes without delay

    It was unseasonably warm
The weather still had a charm

  • Happy Reformation Day

Today is October 31st, 2024. It marks 507 years since the Roman Catholic Augustinian friar, Martin Luther, nailed his 95 theses to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Looking back, historians recognize this day as the catalyst for the Protestant Reformation.

The Reformation was not a revolution. It sought to reform the existing Roman Catholic church. When that became impossible, the Protestant Church was formed.

The Reformation was a return to the sound doctrine of Scripture, that had been obscured and neglected in the prior centuries.

To ensure we follow Scripture as our basis for doctrine and praxis, the principle of Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone as our highest authority) is essential to safeguard sound doctrine. We reject the fallible traditions of men which have accumulated in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches.

    Our doctrine is truly apostolic.

  • Halloween

    Trick or treat
    Friendly ghosts we’ll soon meet

A spider hangs from the ceiling
    I have the Halloween feeling

A maniacal goblin I spied tonight
    It caused quite a fright

    Carved pumpkins are aglow
    They are quite the show

A black cat crossed my path
I don’t want to feel its wrath

  • Christmas Magic

    It’s that special time
    Of the year
    When people are jolly
    And full of good cheer

    Angels hang from
    Each street light
    They are lit up
    By bulbs of white

    In the midst
    Of our Christmas mirth
    Let us remember that
Christ gives us a second birth

    The Christmas tree
    It is decorated so nice
    It was worth
    The price

    We’ll sip hot cocoa
    And feast on baked ham
    Giving thanks
    For the Lamb

    Christmas movies
    Are always a treat

  • My Life

    Lifting my arm
    It is a difficult task
    I suffer from fatigue
    I wear a sorrowful mask

    I have fibromyalgia pain
    All over my body
    My physical health
    Is rather shoddy

    I suffer from
    Spinal stenosis
    As well as
    Acute psychosis

    I have
    Major depression
    It’s a real challenge
    I take psychiatric medication

    I also have anxiety
    It is no fun
    My mind is constantly
    On the run

    Racing intrusive thoughts
    Plague me
    Someday I will
    Be totally free

  • Much to My Dismay

I sip an iced green tea
    It’s very tasty

    It has ginseng and honey
    It was worth the money

    I lay in bed all-day
I long to laugh and play

    I dream of Camelot
    It’s there that I fought

My armor gleaming in the sun
    I am the chosen one

    I snore very loud
    It makes me proud

    Someday I’ll be healed
Until then my fate is sealed
