I was lost
In an ocean of sin
I needed Christ’s propitiation

Oh wretched man
Sin affects our body and soul
Over time, it really takes a toll

Jesus is the Messiah
He was born to die
His love for me makes me cry

Jesus performed many miracles
At Calvary, Christ bore God’s wrath
It was His path

I got Christ’s perfect righteousness
All of my sin was to Christ imputed
Our need for a Savior is undisputed

Faith comes by hearing God’s Word
So you must repent and believe today
To have salvation, there’s no other way

We are saved
By grace alone through faith alone
On us Christ’s light shone

In the Garden of Eden
God walked with man
The Lord had a salvation plan

God knew
That man would fall
For the Elect, Christ would save them all

Over time
Man did evil all the time
They committed many a crime

God locked Noah and his family
In the ark
Until on dry land they could disembark

They were the only ones saved
All others perished in the flood of the earth
Christ would give man a second birth

Christ died for us
At Calvary
He set man free

Trust in Christ alone
Believe and repent
Salvation is a one-time event

Man was lost
Completely in sin
Christ was our propitiation

Totally depraved
Man was spiritually dead
Until the Gospel we are fed

We are saved
By God’s sovereign grace
Christ redeems the human race

Regeneration precedes faith
Our soul is quickened by the Holy Spirit
Grace is irresistible; we didn’t merit it

God conditions our hearts
So we come willingly to believe
Christ’s righteousness we receive

After we are regenerated
We receive the gifts of faith and repentance
Our sin becomes for us a repugnance

We are chosen by God
Not because of anything we are or do
The number of people saved is relatively few

As young children
When I was
Six years old
I wore
A Spider-Man
Costume
Vi was a Smurf
And Tanya
Was Tweety Bird
Our parents
Gave us freedom
To trick or treat
On our own
I filled
A big pillow case
Full of delicious
Candy
I was out
Going house to house
For two hours
I loved seeing
All the spooky
Decorations
The air was chilly
We received
Full size
Candy bars
Such as
Snickers
Milky Way
Twix
Almond Joy
Mounds
Three Musketeers
Reese’s Cups
Whatchamacallit
We also got
Nerds
Smarties
Now and Later
Bubbalicious
These happy memories
I cherish

Since the Fall of man
God had a plan

Christ would save His elect
It was God who did select

In Bethlehem, Christ was born
One cold December morn

He was totally without any sin
Christ would be our propitiation

At Calvary Christ bled
For man, it was shed

At the world’s foundation
God chose the elect for salvation

We are justified by faith alone
We lose a heart of stone

We have a blessed hope you see
The Church shall be raptured suddenly

We’ll meet Christ in the sky
People left behind will wonder why

We’ll live with Christ on the new earth
Because He gave us a second birth

My salvation is secured
It’s God who ensures our salvation
Through Christ it is procured

Jesus is my Savior and Lord
He is returning to rapture His bride
I wield Scripture as my sword

At Calvary Christ bled
He bore God’s wrath
In Christ, we are fed

On the third day, He rose
He defeated sin, death, and Satan
We remember this with prose

Christ is our only Mediator
We shouldn’t pray to anyone else
We shall be with Him later

We are regenerated, you see
Next comes repentance
And faith totally

The Elect are born again
Due to predestination
Christ forgave all our sin

It caught a gale

The sky was black
Courage we did not lack

We traveled near and far
Navigated by a star

We sailed the seas
Waves brought me to my knees

We caught some king crab
I felt like Captain Ahab

Whales swam around us at night
It was such a delight

We headed back home
As I read a good tome

I’m struggling
With mental illness
Don’t have happiness

Every day
I’m down in the dumps
This isn’t for chumps

I suffer
Each day
I’m full of dismay

I have
No energy
I feel terribly

I long to have
A mind that’s whole
My illness takes a toll

I hear
Inner voices in my mind
Psychosis I find

Sometimes
I have many a delusion
And mental confusion

I lack
Motivation
It’s a bad situation

It is a time
Of renewal
It’s so sublime

I admire
The tulips
And tiger lilies
I watch the ships

We celebrate Easter
When Christ died for us
We went from minus
To plus

On the third day
He rose from the dead
Christ is alive
His blood was shed

We are saved
By God’s unmerited grace
Christ died
For the human race

The Holy Spirit
Quickens our soul
We are born again
Christ makes us whole

God with us

Because of love
He was incarnated
As both fully man
And fully divine
Born to Mary
A virgin
Christ is
Without any sin
He taught
Many things
Preaching
The Kingdom
Of God
He would break
The curse of sin
Since the Fall
Man has been
Tainted with sin
At Calvary
Christ suffered
For us
He bore God’s
Full wrath
Christ gave up
His spirit
On the third day
He rose from
The dead
He defeated sin
Death and Satan
He was a
Propitiation
A sacrifice
All our sin
Was imputed
To Christ
On the cross
And when
We are born again
We receive His
Perfect
Righteousness
Before God
Intervenes
We are
Spiritually dead
We who are the Elect
Are irresistibly
Drawn to God
By the Holy Spirit
This is monergistic
God is totally
Sovereign
Including
Our salvation
A spiritually dead
Person
Cannot choose God
In Christ
We are new creations
