The Joys of My Youth
Oh how I miss
Those halcyon days
My carefree youth
When my mind
Was whole
A time of
Innocence
Before I fathomed
The cruel depths
Of evil
Human depravity
And degeneracy
My sisters
And I
Played outside
We did games
Like Red Rover
And Hide and Go Seek
We collected
Cicada shells
On trees
We danced
Under the sprinkler
We made
Mud pies
We played
Whiffle ball
We made up
Stories
We laughed
I will never
Forget
Those special
Daysby Zachary Uram

I am not crazy
Nor am I lazyI often feel lethargic
My mind is catastrophicI long to walk and play
All I have is dismayI put on Christ’s mind
True peace I findI am mentally ill

Also, I have a neurosisI have delusions
So far there are no solutionsMajor depression is no joke
I’m a sad blokeMy sister Vi lifts my mood
I improve my attitudeby Zachary Uram

Amazing Grace
God’s sovereign grace
Can redeem the human raceIn Adam, we all fell
Satan rang our death knellBut out of love, Christ came
It is us who are to blameHe is our Savior so dear
He casts out all our fearMan is wretched and depraved
To sin we are enslavedBut Christ died for our sin
He was our propitiationOn the third day He rose
It is us He choseBy grace alone through faith alone
We are saved because Christ did atoneThrough God’s Word, we’re called home
We need no other tomeby Zachary Uram

A Gospel Poem
Oh what a glorious morn
When Christ was bornIn a manger, the holy Infant lay
Resting His body on a bed of hayHe would reconcile God and man
Christ followed God the Father’s planHe died on the cross at Calvary
This propitiation set man freeThis was the path that Christ chose
On the third day, He roseHe defeated death, Satan, and sin
In Christ, we winHe receives all the souls His Father gives
Christ our Redeemer livesSo repent and believe in Him so true
Satan will never deceive youby Zachary Uram

God
God is love
He is also justice
Let us not emphasize one
Over the other
God is all holy
Omnipotent
Omniscient
Omnipresent
He left us with
His infallible
And inerrant Word
We worship
The Triune God
God the Father
God the Son
And God the Holy Spirit
God is absolutely sovereign
Nothing transpires
Outside His willby Zachary Uram

A Sanctified Life
If we love
Christ
We will keep
His commandments
Christ is
Our Lord
And Savior
We need
To practice daily
Repentance
And godly sorrow
At our sin
As we are
In union
With Christ
We will hate sin
And our lives
Will yield
The fruit of
The Spirit
We must
Kill sin
Or it will be
Killing us
God sanctifies
His children
As we walk
In daily
Obedience
Doing the
Good works
He prepared
For usby Zachary Uram

The Future of America
The missiles fell
Like summer rain
It drove many insaneOur major cities
Were utterly destroyed
The nukes were deployedOnce mighty buildings
Were reduced to rubble
The few survivors struggleRadioactive fallout
Blanketed the ground
Not many survivors were foundAll is destroyed
And lost
In the nuclear holocaustby Zachary Uram

The Reformed View of Salvation
The effectual call
Which quickens men’s souls
Is not for allGod chooses the elect
He makes us
Spiritually circumspectAll that the Father gave
Are the chosen ones
They alone Christ did saveThe new birth
When we become spiritually alive
Is cause for mirthRegeneration precedes faith you see
God gifts us faith and repentance
We receive divine grace freelySalvation is not earned certainly
God’s sovereign grace
Is applied to the elect sufficientlyFaith comes by hearing
And hearing by the Word of God
The elect have a godly hearingby Zachary Uram

A Day in The Park
I sit down
In lush cool grass
My depression
Will soon passI look above
And I see an owl
In the distance
I hear a wolf howlI completely admire
God’s creation
It fills me
With elationI marvel at
A mighty oak tree
Its deep roots symbolize
Our faith is so sturdyA bald eagle
Flies above
It’s catching food
For its children due to loveby Zachary Uram

Transportation Blues
I cannot ride on a plane
It would drive me insane
My sanity would waneI cannot ride a train
It would cause me mental pain
This is my sad refrainI cannot ride in a boat
It wouldn’t let me float
I’d rather walk a goatI cannot ride in a car
It is deadly by far
I hate the smell of tarby Zachary Uram
