• The Joys of My Youth

    Oh how I miss
    Those halcyon days
    My carefree youth
    When my mind
    Was whole
    A time of
    Innocence
    Before I fathomed
    The cruel depths
    Of evil
    Human depravity
    And degeneracy
    My sisters
    And I
    Played outside
    We did games
    Like Red Rover
    And Hide and Go Seek
    We collected
    Cicada shells
    On trees
    We danced
    Under the sprinkler
    We made
    Mud pies
    We played
    Whiffle ball
    We made up
    Stories
    We laughed
    I will never
    Forget
    Those special
    Days

  • Life With Severe Mental Illness

    I am not crazy
    Nor am I lazy

    I often feel lethargic
    My mind is catastrophic

I long to walk and play
    All I have is dismay

    I put on Christ’s mind
    True peace I find

    I am mentally ill
    I take many a pill

    Sometimes I have psychosis
    Also, I have a neurosis

    I have delusions
So far there are no solutions

    Major depression is no joke
    I’m a sad bloke

My sister Vi lifts my mood
    I improve my attitude

  • Amazing Grace

    God’s sovereign grace
    Can redeem the human race

    In Adam, we all fell
    Satan rang our death knell

But out of love, Christ came
It is us who are to blame

He is our Savior so dear
He casts out all our fear

    Man is wretched and depraved
    To sin we are enslaved

But Christ died for our sin
    He was our propitiation

On the third day He rose
    It is us He chose

By grace alone through faith alone
We are saved because Christ did atone

Through God’s Word, we’re called home
    We need no other tome

  • A Gospel Poem

    Oh what a glorious morn
    When Christ was born

In a manger, the holy Infant lay
Resting His body on a bed of hay

He would reconcile God and man
Christ followed God the Father’s plan

He died on the cross at Calvary
    This propitiation set man free

This was the path that Christ chose
On the third day, He rose

He defeated death, Satan, and sin
    In Christ, we win

He receives all the souls His Father gives
    Christ our Redeemer lives

So repent and believe in Him so true
    Satan will never deceive you

  • God

    God is love
    He is also justice
    Let us not emphasize one
    Over the other
    God is all holy
    Omnipotent
    Omniscient
    Omnipresent
    He left us with
    His infallible
    And inerrant Word
    We worship
    The Triune God
    God the Father
    God the Son
    And God the Holy Spirit
    God is absolutely sovereign
    Nothing transpires
    Outside His will

  • A Sanctified Life

    If we love
    Christ
    We will keep
    His commandments
    Christ is
    Our Lord
    And Savior
    We need
    To practice daily
    Repentance
    And godly sorrow
    At our sin
    As we are
    In union
    With Christ
    We will hate sin
    And our lives
    Will yield
    The fruit of
    The Spirit
    We must
    Kill sin
    Or it will be
    Killing us
    God sanctifies
    His children
    As we walk
    In daily
    Obedience
    Doing the
    Good works
    He prepared
    For us

  • The Future of America

    The missiles fell
    Like summer rain
    It drove many insane

    Our major cities
    Were utterly destroyed
    The nukes were deployed

    Once mighty buildings
    Were reduced to rubble
    The few survivors struggle

    Radioactive fallout
    Blanketed the ground
    Not many survivors were found

    All is destroyed
    And lost
    In the nuclear holocaust

  • The Reformed View of Salvation

    The effectual call
    Which quickens men’s souls
    Is not for all

    God chooses the elect
    He makes us
    Spiritually circumspect

    All that the Father gave
    Are the chosen ones
    They alone Christ did save

    The new birth
    When we become spiritually alive
    Is cause for mirth

    Regeneration precedes faith you see
God gifts us faith and repentance
    We receive divine grace freely

    Salvation is not earned certainly
    God’s sovereign grace
Is applied to the elect sufficiently

    Faith comes by hearing
And hearing by the Word of God
The elect have a godly hearing

  • A Day in The Park

    I sit down
    In lush cool grass
    My depression
    Will soon pass

    I look above
    And I see an owl
    In the distance
    I hear a wolf howl

    I completely admire
    God’s creation
    It fills me
    With elation

    I marvel at
    A mighty oak tree
    Its deep roots symbolize
    Our faith is so sturdy

    A bald eagle
    Flies above
    It’s catching food
For its children due to love

  • Transportation Blues

I cannot ride on a plane
    It would drive me insane
    My sanity would wane

    I cannot ride a train
It would cause me mental pain
    This is my sad refrain

I cannot ride in a boat
    It wouldn’t let me float
    I’d rather walk a goat

I cannot ride in a car
    It is deadly by far
I hate the smell of tar
