• The Pure Gospel of Jesus Christ

    Christ
    Set us free
    In Him we have
    Perfect liberty

    He who knew
    No sin at all
Took it on to save us
    From the Fall

    Christ felt
    God’s wrath
    It was part
    Of His path

    He was
    Our propitiation
    Christ faced
    Humiliation

    His death was
    Not final
He rose on the third day
    Defeating the devil

    God chose us
    Before the world’s foundation
    The Holy Spirit quickened us
    We experienced justification

    Hear the gospel
    And sincerely repent
You will receive the gift of faith
    God didn’t need your consent

  • Pizza

    Pizza is a tasty treat
    It can’t be beat

    Give me mozzarella
    It will satisfy this fella

    Also, it would be nice
To have a glass of Coke with ice

The romano cheese gives a tangy taste
None of the pizza will go to waste

The tomato sauce is a little sweet
    It makes the pizza complete

    Anchovies and mushrooms are great
Put that pizza pie on my plate

  • A Winter Morning

    I step
    Outside
    It’s a winter
    Wonderland
    Everything
    Is covered
    In a blanket
    Of pure white
    I hear cardinals
    Singing
    Sweet melodies
    It is
    Very cold
    I walk through
    Schenley Park
    It’s secluded
    People ski
    Past me
    The street lights
    Make the snow
    Look so pure
    Like millions
    Of sparkling
    Diamonds
    I can see
    My breath
    I stop by
    Meranti’s
    Italian store
    I get an
    Italian hoagie
    And some
    Tiramisu
    I walk back
    Home
    I snuggle up
    In a warm
    Blanket

  • Biblical Soteriology Is Monergistic

Regeneration precedes faith. Faith is the fruit of regeneration, not the root of it.

Biblical soteriology (how we are saved) is monergistic. That is, it is God acting alone. Man’s will is enslaved to sin. So his will is limited. Man cannot initiate salvation, because he is spiritually dead. Man’s will is so enslaved to sin, that God must act first. The effectual call is God acting on man’s disposition so he can receive the gifts of faith and repentance.

Man is changed, by the Holy Spirit quickening the dead soul, such that he goes from being spiritually dead to spiritually alive. It is a radical and complete transformation. This process is known as being “born again”.

So, does regeneration come before faith? John 6:44 says, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” Second Corinthians 4:4 declares, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” It is undeniable that God must do something to enable people to believe. At the very least, God must draw people to Christ and open their eyes.

The question still remains, however, must God regenerate people, i.e., save them, before they can believe? Is it possible that God could enable people to believe without regenerating them? Could God draw people, unblind their eyes, soften their hearts, and open their minds, making it possible for them to believe, without actually regenerating them? For the Arminian, the answer is yes, and this “spiritual awakening” is known as prevenient grace.

Again, for the Calvinist, Ephesians 2:1 is the deciding factor. It is impossible to draw, unblind, soften, or open the minds of dead people. God must make people alive, regenerate them, before they can believe.

  • The Life of A Grizzly Bear

    I awake
    From my slumber
    I am on the prowl
    I avoid the hunter

    After my hibernation
    I was famished
    My extra weight
    Had vanished

    I ate
    Some honey
    Humans sell it
    For money

    I am
    A massive beast
    Take head lest you
    Become my feast

    I swim
    In the nearby lake
    At the stream it’s salmon
    I will partake

    I can outrun, climb
    And swim faster than man
If you want to challenge me
You better have a good plan

    You may have guessed it
    I’m a grizzly bear
    Don’t cross me
    Or you’ll despair

  • Pets

    How I yearn
    To have pets
    I want
    Dogs and cats
    These precious
    Companions
    I would love
    To have
    Fur babies
    Vi and I
    Want
    A Siamese cat
    And
    A Maine Coon cat
    Also
    We want a
    Golden Retriever
    A black Labrador
    And a Pug dog
    We also desire
    A French Bulldog
    Animals give
    Emotional support
    And
    Unconditional love
    Truly, pets are
    A gift from God

  • Jesus Christ Is Lord

    Since Adam
    Caused the Fall
    Sin taints everyone
    At all

    Man was mired
    In sin
    He needed
    A propitiation

    The wondrous incarnation
    Brought Jesus to earth
    He gives us sinners
    A second birth

    Jesus the Messiah
    Was born in a manger
    Herod wanted Him dead
    He was in great danger

    Christ healed the sick
    He cast out demons
    He came for
    Us heathens

    At Calvary
    Christ hung on a tree
    He did it
    For you and me

    On the third day
    Christ rose
    Let’s celebrate
    With song and prose

  • The Alpha and Omega

    My life
    Is illuminated
    By the Light
    The Nazarene
    My Redeemer
    The Messiah
    Jesus
    My Savior
    And Lord
    The living
    Logos
    The Son
    Of God
    He came
    As a babe
    He died
    On a tree
    His shed
    Blood
    A sinless
    Sacrifice
    He rose
    On the
    Third day
    He is
    The Alpha
    And Omega
    He will
    Judge
    All men

  • My Fantastic Life

    It was a
    Late autumn day
    When Christ came
    My way

    Christ appeared to me
    In two thousand and one
    He anointed me
    It was God’s Son

    Christ ordained me
    As a High Priest
    I am a sinful wretch
    I am the least

    Christ gave me
    Spiritual gifts
    I’m able to create
    Spacetime rifts

    I can time travel
    Both forward and back
    I am telekinetic
At times I have a flashback

  • A Plea for Sanity

    I’m lost in
    A mental abyss
    I’m confused
    Sanity I miss

    I take
    Psychiatric medication
    They have side effects
    I’m stuck in depression

    Schizophrenia is not fun
    Sometimes I feel psychotic
    But my medication can be
    Very hypnotic

    I deal with delusions
    And hallucinations you see
    But in Christ
    I get the victory
