• Coffee

    Oh brew divine
    I love to drink
    Coffee all the time

    Waking in the morning
    It prevents me
    From snoring

    Throughout the day
    I drink coffee galore
    It makes me gay

    I like it with creamer
That is so sweet and nice
    Coffee keeps you sober

    Lattes and frappucinos
I love coffee in all forms
    Espressos and cappuccinos

    Grind those coffee beans
And brew up a good cup
Wanting it is in my genes

  • A History of My People from Bondage to Salvation

    From Ireland
    My ancestors fled
    The potato famine
    Some of them wed

    A new life
    In America awaited
    Their hopes and dreams
    Were not deflated

    Their children
    Got a good education
    They got nice jobs
    It was a better situation

    Still they longed
    To visit Ireland once again
    To see those green hills
    Their longing caused pain

    The best gift
    Some of them received
    Was to be born again
    Satan no longer them deceived

    They completely renounced
    Their errant Catholic dogma
    And embraced true belief
    God was now their Father

    Salvation is totally
    Undeserved and unmerited
    God’s sovereign grace
    Made them adopted

  • A Demonic Encounter

    Demons came in my window
    During the night
    They caused me
    Quite a fright

    They were ugly
    Glowing red eyes
    With black fur
    Them I really did despise

    The demons flew
    Around my bedroom
    Nasty creatures
    Full of gloom

    Blaspheming God
    They spewed profanity
I said “The Lord rebuke you!”
    And they began to flee

    I dislike
    Such demonic visitations
I will stand on God’s Word
    No matter the manifestations

  • Gospel Reflections

    Regeneration is the root
    Faith is its fruit

    Regeneration precedes faith
    Scripture saith

    We are born from above
    Because of God’s love

    Thank God for sovereign grace
It alone can save the human race

The natural man is dead in sin
    The Holy Spirit doth quicken

Our cold dead hearts are made alive
    The Spirit did revive

    We are spiritually reborn
    Thanks to Eastern morn

    Christ the sinless sacrifice
    He paid the ultimate price

Christ was resurrected in full glory
This is not the end of the story

He calls all men to repent
We must believe the gospel as sent

  • Secure in Christ

    Resist the Devil
    And he will flee
    He wants us in
    A state of misery

    The Lord rebuke you
    We must say
    Christ alone can keep
    Satan at bay

    We must stand firm
    On God’s Word
    If demons attack us
    They need not be feared

    In Christ we are
    More than conquerors
    He shall defend us
    Against all attackers

  • Afternoon Meditation

    It’s chilly outdoors
    Filled with anxiety
    I take medication
    And pace the floors

    In her bed
    Vi peacefully slumbers
    Her snoring is sweet
    In our homestead

    When my thoughts are dark
    I pray and read Scripture
    And imagine I’m sailing
On the ocean in a barque

    And all seems gloom
    And I am depressed
    I read theology books
    And relax in my bedroom

    Sometimes I hallucinate
    They can be scary
    And quite disconcerting
    But I am not irate

I like to take it easy
    I listen to Bach
    And sip a good coffee
    Now I’m sleepy

  • Summertime Blues

    Laying in bed
    Harsh sunlight
    Scorches my head

    Heat index is high
    As I lay there
    I wonder why

    Is El Nino to blame
    Or is it just part
    Of some divine game

    Listless and low energy
    Trapped like a prisoner
    Yearning to be free

    Sweat streams my face
    The sun blazes
    I rely on God’s grace

    Before long
    The air will be cold
    We’ll sing a Christmas song

    The sun keeps blazing
    But I no longer despair
    It is Christ I’m praising

  • A Day in the Forest

    The trees’ memories
    Linger softly
    Shadows of time past

    A multitude
    Of silent witnesses
    Time passes slowly

    Life is teeming
    Under the foliage
    An ecosystem in motion

    Lush plants
    Carpet the ground
    Ants gather food

    Rabbits and mice
    Scurry about
    Happy and content

    Walking underneath
    The canopy of leaves
    Life is simpler

    Feeling connected
    To God the Creator
    From dirt He made us

    Look at the beauty
    And diversity
    Of life He created

    Standing in awe
    At the wonder
    Of His handiwork

  • Our Blessed Hope

    The last trumpet
    Shall sound
    The blast shall
    Be heard across
    The globe
    The dead in Christ
    Shall rise first
    Getting uncorrupted
    Bodies
    Then those
    Who are alive
    Will be raptured
    The Church
    Will be caught up
    And meet Christ
    In the air
    This happens
    Before
    Great Tribulation
    When God’s wrath
    Is poured out
    On the wicked men
    Of the earth
    We the Body
    Of Christ
    Shall accompany
    Him
    To Heaven
    For the
    Marriage Supper
    Of the Lamb
    Then after
    Seven years
    We shall return
    To earth
    For the
    Second Coming
    And the
    Thousand year
    Reign of Christ

  • H2O

    Water
    So fresh
    And pure
    When I am
    Thirsty
    It’s the
    Cure
    I like it
    Cold with
    Plenty of
    Ice
    That’s
    Very nice
    If you’re
    Parched
    There is
    Nothing
    Better
    I guzzle
    It down
    By the
    Liter
    Add some
    Honey
    And lemon
    Juice
    Nothing
    Sweeter
