From Darkness to Light
I climbed a mountain
Carrying my sinI was lost and confused
I was feeling depressedI read the Gospel, and received a new life
I repented and believed, no more strifeI am no longer lost
Christ paid the ultimate costAll our sin is to Him imputed
This is the truth, and it can’t be refutedChrist’s perfect righteousness is imputed to us
We go spiritually from minus to plusPenal substitutionary atonement is not nominal
We’re changed, we receive a new nature that’s phenomenalWe are made more Christ-like every day
We must be killing sin come what wayI am a believer because God chose me
In Christ alone am I freeI thank the Lord for His propitiation
He was the Lamb sacrificed for our sinful conditionby Zachary Uram

Doomsday
The nukes fell
Like cherry blossoms
In springtime
A great number
Of missiles
Filled the sky
They rained down
Mercilessly
On US cities
The Earth began
A nuclear winter
The US was now
A radioactive
Wasteland
A remnant had fled
To the Arctic
Before the nukes fell
Everyone else perished
All is destroyed
And lost
In the nuclear
Holocaustby Zachary Uram

Freedom from Sin through Christ
I am no longer
Captive by sin
Thanks to
Christ’s propitiationWhen we are regenerated
The Holy Spirit indwells us
Spiritually we go from
Minus to plusThe natural man
Is spiritually dead
But God has chosen the elect
To be His children insteadWe receive the effectual call
We are saved by God’s grace alone
Through faith alone you see
Because for us Christ did atoneCarry your cross every day

Experiences
I walk
Through
The night
The air
Is cold
Snow
Is falling
The ground
Dazzles
Like millions
Of diamonds
I will
Fight
The blight
Demons
Attack me
I shout
“The Lord
Rebuke you”
They shriek
Then fly away
Going further
I cross
A small
Stone bridge
An old man
Is ice fishing
In the frozen
River
He tells me
That we must
Be fishers
Of men
I carry
A heavy burden
My severe
Mental illness
I put on
The mind
Of Christ
One day
I will be free
Of all maladies
My mind shall
Be whole
I thank
The Holy Spirit
For His roleby Zachary Uram

The Dangers of Modern Transportation
I refuse to fly
Death awaits in the skyI will travel by boat
I hope it will stay afloatAutomobiles are deadly; thousands die every year
Being in a car fills me with fearI can’t walk very much due to spinal stenosis
It’s a tragic prognosisI could take the train
But it would drive me insaneRiding a bike is too dangerous, you see
I’m fatigued and have no energyI refuse to ride in a bus
The thought of it makes me want to cussHelicopters are very much a way to destruction

An Overview of The End Times
As the last
Trumpet does sound
The dead in Christ
Shall rise from the groundBelievers who are alive
Will join Christ for sure
Sin is the disease
And He is the cureWe shall meet Jesus
In the air
We will no longer
Have a reason to despairThe Church shall be led
To Heaven with the Lord
For the Marriage Supper
Of the Lamb we soaredAfter the Great Tribulation
Seven years of God’s wrath
Jesus and the Church
Will return to EarthChrist will condemn the wicked
They shall soon expire
Shall face eternal torment
In the Lake of FireSatan himself cannot withstand
God’s might
Darkness shall be destroyed
By lightChrist will rule from
Ezekiel’s Temple, you see
He’ll reign for 1,000 years
Before Him shall bow every kneeNext is the New Heaven
And New Earth
We’ll worship God forever

Madness
My brain is defective
My cognition is selectiveI rest a lot in my abode
Mentally, I’m a few bricks shy of a loadI long to have energy and play
Sadly, I’m confined to bed and full of dismayI sometimes hear voices telling me to sin
I can resist because of Jesus’ propitiationI suffer from many a mental fright
I wish my mind were whole, that’d be a true delightI am quite crazy
My mind is often hazyI am a megalomaniac
I’ve had many a mental attackI am mentally disturbed
My thinking is perturbedOne day, I will be healed
A sane mind will be revealedby Zachary Uram

My Journey to Better Health
I’m losing weight
Every day
Soon I shall be like Adonis
In every wayI drink water
Both night and day
It fills me up
Without delayI desire to be
Healthy and fit
All day in my chair
I cannot sitCurrently, I have
A big belly
One day I’ll be slim and trim
And so happyI love drinking water
Every hour
Without it, my health
Would be dourI walk outside
With my rollator, you see
I enjoy the sunshine
And sceneryI want to glorify God
Every single day
My body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit
With me, He will stayby Zachary Uram

Born Again: The Transformation of Believers
God predestined man to salvation
At the world’s foundationChrist would give us a second birth
This is cause for great mirthWe weren’t chosen by God for anything we did
The reason for our election He hidBecause of sin, man is spiritually dead
We are made alive because Christ’s blood was shedThe natural man is totally depraved
Only by grace alone through faith alone are we savedAt Calvary, on the rugged cross, Jesus did atone
For the natural man, the Holy Spirit transforms his heart of stoneRegeneration, through the Holy Spirit, precedes faith for sure
First comes the effectual call, we’re redeemed from the Fall, and our wicked natureWhen we repent and believe the Gospel, our souls are quickened, and we’re born again
We receive a new nature by the Holy Spirit, so we are now at war with the flesh and sinChrist was our propitiation; we received His perfect righteousness
Our sin was imputed to Him; this is not nominalism, thanks to God’s graciousnessUpon being born again, we change in our whole ontology
No longer slaves to the flesh, we become righteous, you seeby Zachary Uram

Joyful Moments in the Park: A Poetic Journey
On a beautiful
Spring day
Underneath an oak tree
I did layI sat in
The lush green grass
I was so joyous
I didn’t notice the time passAcorns were scattered
All over the ground
A squirrel sat in the tree
It didn’t make a soundBeneath the tree
I read a Shakespeare play
I fell asleep
It’s been a wonderful dayI left the park
And headed home
My time in nature was great
Thus ends my poemby Zachary Uram
