My Daily Struggle With Mental Illness
Tragically, I am insane
I have a defective brainAt times, I have psychotic breaks
A very heavy toll on my mind, it makesI struggle with major depression
It’s a constant frustrationI’m always fatigued and sad
Having this illness makes me madThis mental suffering is due to the Fall
My only hope is the effectual callI hear voices in my head
They fill me with dreadI see demons inside people all around
Each demon makes a ghastly soundI have anxiety, causing much stress
My mind, I pray God will blessby Zachary Uram

Holy Week
Easter is a special time
Full of joy and mirth
Because of Easter
Man can have a second birthOn Maundy Thursday, we commemorate
The Last Supper you see
In the garden of Gethsemane
Jesus prayed and sweated blood profuselyOn Good Friday
We solemnly recall
Jesus trial, torture, and crucifixion
His death and burialJesus was a sinless sacrifice
We are redeemed from all sin
By His precious blood
He was our propitiationJesus hung on the cross at Calvary for six hours
He cried out, “It is finished!”
Jesus gave up His spirit and died
At 3pm, the earth shook, and the sky darkenedOn Holy Saturday, Jesus lay in His tomb
We meditate on His sacrifice with anticipation
Jesus went to Hell to preach and set captives free
He conquered death, Hell, and sinRoman soldiers guarded the tomb
On Easter Sunday, Jesus’ tomb was empty
What does this mean, you may wonder
Jesus had resurrected, proving He is God Almightyby Zachary Uram

My Mental Health Journey
I struggle mentally every day
I am full of dismayI lack motivation
I labor for sanctificationOften, I see and hear
Things that aren’t thereI am depressed all the time
God cut me down in my primeI became mentally ill
And have to take many a pillFor 25 years, I’ve fought
I’ve had many a bad thoughtI deal with delusions, too
Insanity, I try to eschewSevere mental illness is no joke
I am one exhausted blokeI have extreme lethargy
Heavy fatigue saps meI deal with bad anxiety
I tend to worry excessivelySometimes I have dissociation
It’s my mind’s machinationOne day, I’ll have a sound mind
In Heaven, peace I will findby Zachary Uram

God Has Exalted Me: I REIGN SUPREME!
I travel through
Space and time
My journeys are
Truly sublimeI employ
A phased mind warp
Projecting my mind
A superluminal timewarpI’ve visited galaxies
Both far and near
When I travel in space
I have no fearI project my soul
Far back in spacetime
Back to the Big Bang
I can visit anytimeThe universe
Is my playground
I’m delighted
At what I’ve foundI can visit any time
Such as ancient Rome
Or fifth-century Japan
I record it all in a tomeby Zachary Uram

A Lenten Reflection
In the Garden of Eden
God walked with man
But man sinned
God the Father had a planJesus the Messiah
Was incarnated on Earth
One day, He would give man
A second birthBorn to the Virgin Mary
Christ was free of all sin
He was the perfect sacrifice
A propitiationWith gratitude to God
I am fully replete
God chose His elect
From the Mercy SeatChrist the Son of Man
Resurrected Easter morn
He proved He was divine
In Christ, again, we are bornJesus’ intense suffering
Was not in vain
He procured man’s salvation
Through His blood and painIf you sincerely repent
And believe the gospel
You will be regenerated
You’re on a spiritual pedestalby Zachary Uram

Grizzly Bear

I’m hunting
Some tasty prey
I will eat them
Without any delayI am equipped
With massive paws
And razor sharp
Strong clawsI will catch salmon
As they swim upstream
There are so many
It’s a grizzly’s dreamI eat to store up fat
For my winter hibernation
I will slumber peacefully
Filled with elationI can run, swim, and climb
Better than any human
My nose is very keen
Hunting is my missionby Zachary Uram

Me So Hongry
I have a deep hunger
My belly sounds like thunderThe seconds tick by
I feel like I could cryTime passes slowly, you see
A lack of food brings miseryI wish I had a juicy steak
Or pork chops that you bakeI want every succulent food
I am always in the moodI want pizza so delectable
The taste is irresistibleOn Monday, we shall feast
We’ll eat like a ravenous beastby Zachary Uram

The Good News
Man is not justified
Through good deeds
This truth is written
In our creedsWe are justified
By faith alone you see
Because of Christ’s blood
We are set spiritually freeWe are saved by grace alone
Through faith alone precisely
We receive Christ’s perfect
Righteousness immediatelyCatholics and Orthodox conflate
Sanctification with justification
They follow a aynergistic model
They reach an erroneous conclusionJesus is the divine Logos
No man can be saved at all
Unless the Holy Spirit
Makes the effectual callGod chose us
Before the creation of the earth
Not because of anything we do
Chosen by God for the second birthSpread the life-giving Gospel
Wherever you are
This Good News must be shared

The Gospel in A Few Words
Jesus Christ, the Second Person
Of the Triune God
He would be resurrected
It was not a case of fraudJesus came to earth
As a helpless child
Born to His mother Mary
So meek and mildGod overshadowed this virgin teen
Mary conceived Jesus in her womb
He would grow up
And leave behind an empty tombHe is the Lord of Lords
And King of Kings
It is salvation for man
That He bringsJesus had no sin
He was a perfect sacrifice
At Calvary, He bled
And paid the ultimate priceChrist’s resurrection
Was the greatest event
In all of history
It’s He who God the Father sentShare the Gospel
