• The Way

    I walk alone
    Darkness
    Envelops me
    Searching for
    Eternal life
    Ahead of me
    I spot
    A brilliant
    White light
    A figure
    Emerges
    It is Christ
    The Lord
    He pulls me
    Into the light
    I feel
    Total peace
    My broken mind
    Is healed
    I live for Him

  • Assurance of Salvation

    My life yields
    The fruit of the Spirit
You can see it and hear it

    I’m saved because of Christ’s
    Firm grip on me
    My salvation is a guarantee

    I have surety of
    My spiritual state
Because of the Lord Jesus, so great

    I run the race
    To the end
    With Vi my best friend

    We shall finish strong
Though we may stumble and fall
    We received the effectual call

    Oh, the sweetest of gifts
The knowledge I can be sure
    Makes my spirit soar

  • A Snapshot of My Life

    I drank a root beer
    It made me feel queer

    I looked out my window
    And saw a weeping willow

    I ran down the street
    My happiness was complete

    I laughed and cried
    My emotions I couldn’t hide

I think my mind isn’t whole
For me, I’m living on the dole

I travel across space and time
Soaring at light speed is sublime

I think I will take a long nap
Thanks to Christ I’m a good chap

  • Christ the Light

In the bleak blackness of space
    We were condemned
    The human race

    Plunged into darkness
    By Adam’s fall
    We were faithless

But out of a love so deep
    Christ came as a man
The Good Shepherd of us sheep

    He died in our place
But the grave could not hold Him
    Christ touched us with grace

On the third day, He rose
He defeated sin, death, and Satan
Christ redeems all that the Father chose

  • Lost At Sea: A Metaphor for Salvation

    I am swimming
    In a black ocean
    The tumultuous waves
    Wash over me
    I gasp for breath
    Then Christ appears
    Standing on the water
    He beckons me
    With His outstretched hand
    I grab it
    Instantly I am transported
    To a warm sandy beach
    I am alive

  • Alive in Christ

I once was blind; in darkness
    But now I have sight
    I’m living in the Light

    I was a troubled soul
    Drowning in a stormy sea
    Then Christ rescued me

    I was a lowly wretch
    Full of sin
    I needed a propitiation

    He is sinless
    Christ the King
May I praise Him while I sing

    The God-Man
    Came to earth
So man might have second birth

    At Calvary
    Christ bled
    He died in our stead

    On the third day
He rose from death to life
We the Church are His Wife

    Christ is coming again
He will judge all of humanity
Faith in Him alone will set us free

  • How to Wrongly Worship God

Many souls are drawn to sacramental churches, such as the Roman Catholic and Orthodox. Oftentimes it is because of the smells and bells (aesthetics). These churches have complicated liturgies, fancy vestments, and there is lots of ritualism.

The gospel is largely absent in these churches. They place the fallible traditions of men on the same level as Scripture. This is a grave error. A biblical church will be Reformed. It will affirm the 5 Solas, as well as Calvinist soteriology (the 5 points of Calvinism indicated by the acrostic TULIP).

Fancy vestments and burning incense are unbiblical practices. These churches need to repent and have biblical worship. Having overly complex liturgies is a deficiency, not an asset. The New Testament Church, which Catholics and Orthodox say they model, is very much different than these sacramental churches.

We are to worship God in spirit and truth. Elaborate and expensive vestments, icons, incense, etc. are superfluous.

The Catholic and Orthodox churches follow the fallible traditions of men.

  • The Final Frontier

    I set off
    For the stars
    I walked and ran
    And used many cars

    Finally, I boarded
    A rocket to leave earth
    I was ecstatic
    And full of mirth

    Ignition, liftoff
    My craft did shake
    A momentous journey
    I would soon take

    Three, two, one
    Thrusters online
    I was feeling
    Rather fine

    I was now in
    Outer space
    Starlight fell
    On my face

    I orbited
    The globe
    Mysteries
    I would probe

    I did experiments
    And fixed a satellite
I was amazed by the vastness
    Of space within my sight

    Finally
    I would go home
    Space I would
    No longer roam

  • Bald Eagles

    The mighty bald eagle
    Must use his wits
To get food for his chicks
    He carefully targets

    The rabbit is
    Its prey
    The eagle swoops down
    Capturing without delay

    The eagle’s chicks
    Are enjoying the rabbit meat
    They gobble it down
    Such a tasty treat

    The nest is
    One hundred feet high
    Hanging off a mountain
    It touches the sky

    Bald eagles have
    Amazing eyesight
    They can spot prey
    Even in low light

    Such a majestic creature
    It is strong
    It’s our national symbol
Let us celebrate them in song

  • The Last Trumpet

    The trumpet
    Shall sound
    What happens next
    Is very profound

    The dead in Christ
    Shall rise
    They shall fill
    Up the skies

    Next, believers
    Will be caught up
    Our glorified bodies
    Will develop

    We shall be with Christ
    For eternity
    With our own eyes
    Him will we shall see

    The Church will attend
    The marriage supper
    Of the Lamb
    We shall no longer suffer
