• The Gospel According to Holy Scripture

    Don’t mire
    In the muck of sin
    Sincerely repent
    The Gospel must come in

    The natural man
    Is full of dread
    He is in fact
    Spiritually dead

    Man cannot choose God
    He is enslaved
    By his wicked nature
    He is totally depraved

    He must be regenerated
    Then he receives
    Repentance and faith
    Satan no longer deceives

    The Elect were predestined
Before the foundation of the earth
They would be saved in time
    And receive second birth

    Salvation is solely
    In Christ alone
    It is monergistic
For our sins He did atone

    Christ is our
    Sinless propitiation
    Our sacred sacrifice
    He redeems from every nation

    We receive Christ’s perfect righteousness
    When we are redeemed
Our sin is imputed to Him
    Christ is esteemed

  • The Hunt

    I am on the prowl
    Looking for tasty fowl

    I roam the prairie
    Looking carefully

    I spot a lone turkey
    I am filled with glee

I take aim with my bow
Hitting the bird with my arrow

    We’ll have a tasty feast
    Thanks to the beast

    Vi cooked it up masterfully
The meat is succulent and juicy

    Our Thanksgiving was great
I had turkey piled on my plate

  • Nocturnal Meditations

    When I lost
    My mind
    I found
    Deep wounds
    That bind
    My soul was
    Troubled
    I didn’t know
    Day from night
    Such was my
    Mental blight
    I had no energy
    To fight
    But I had
    Christ’s might
    He soothed
    A savage mind
    I had real peace
    Something before
    I could
    Never find
    Now I am
    Content
    I struggle
    Each day
    But my
    Spiritual debt
    Was paid
    On Calvary
    By Christ’s
    Sacrifice
    Now my sins
    Fade
    Sanctification
    Is God’s work
    I no longer
    Go berserk

  • I’m Thirsty

    A nice
    Refreshing drink
    Saves me
    From going over
    The brink
    Green tea
    For me
    With honey
    And ginseng
    Makes my heart
    Sing
    Coke is nice
    With lots of ice
    When I was four
    Mommy gave us
    Coke galore
    The delicious
    Coke syrup in
    A glass bottle
    Cured my
    Tummy ache
    Coke I shall
    Not forsake

  • Insane in the Membrane

    I am insane
    I have a malfunctioning brain

    I am loco
    I am psycho

    I am a lunatic
    I am not a heretic

    I am mental
    I fight the devil

    I am non compos mentis
    I am Christ’s apprentice

  • My Broken Mind

    I have
    A disjointed mind
    Sanity for me
    Is hard to find

    I take
    Psychoactive medication
    When I have psychosis
    I try meditation

    I sometimes
    Fly into a rage
    So I read Scripture
    And turn the page

    I get
    Very depressed
    And full of lethargy
    I feel sad and dejected

    I eschew
    Social interaction
    I like being at home
    And enjoying relaxation

    I have PTSD
    Violent imagery
    Triggers me
    I take my meds religiously

  • The Pilgrims

    These godly folks
    Set sail
    Aboard wooden ships
    Some people were frail

    They ventured far
    To a new land
    By the captain’s
    Steady hand

    Many of them were escaping
    Religious persecution
    A fresh start
    Was the solution

    They traversed
    Turbulent seas
    Thanking God
    On their knees

    The landed
    At Plymouth Rock
    Here their ship
    Would dock

    They established
    A Christian theocracy
    This form of government
    Is purely godly

    During the first winter
    Many they could not revive
    Native Americans
    Taught them to survive

    The natives and pilgrims
    Had a bountiful feast
    They thanked God
    From greatest to least

    Millions of us
    Are their kin
    They all
    Resisted sin

    It was a
    Utopian society
    Homogeneous
    They made history

    Sadly our society
    Is now pagan
    And filled with the ungodly
    May Christ hasten

  • Untitled

    I lay in bed
    And rest my weary head

    I try to slumber deep
    But I cannot sleep

    I wish to dream
    Of a clear blue stream

I sleep for half a day
God keeps the demons at bay

    Now it’s time I wake
Some tasty food Vi will make

  • Demons

    Demons
    Come out at night
    They cause me
    Quite a fright

    The demons blaspheme
    They fly overhead
    Right over
    My bed

    They are black
    With red eyes
    If you aren’t alert
    They could hypnotize

    I rebuke them
In the name of the Lord
    They shriek in pain
As I wield the Spirit Sword

    In Christ I am
    More than a conqueror
    The demons
    Must surrender

    These demonic entities
    Are not my imagination
    They exist in reality
    And cause me consternation

  • Afternoon in the Country

    I entered
    The carriage
    I was new
    To marriage

    We went
    At a slow pace
    The cool autumn air
    Caressed my face

    We traveled along
    The country road
    Passing quaint farms
    We even spotted a toad

    We had afternoon tea
    At the grand hotel
    Biscuits were eaten
    I shared the gospel

    A husband and wife
    Repented and turned
    From their sins that day
    Eternal life they received

    We were soon
    Back home
    I began reading
    A good tome
