The Gospel According to Holy Scripture

Don’t mire
In the muck of sin
Sincerely repent
The Gospel must come inThe natural man
Is full of dread
He is in fact
Spiritually deadMan cannot choose God
He is enslaved
By his wicked nature
He is totally depravedHe must be regenerated
Then he receives
Repentance and faith
Satan no longer deceivesThe Elect were predestined
Before the foundation of the earth
They would be saved in time
And receive second birthSalvation is solely
In Christ alone
It is monergistic
For our sins He did atoneChrist is our
Sinless propitiation
Our sacred sacrifice
He redeems from every nationWe receive Christ’s perfect righteousness
When we are redeemed
Our sin is imputed to Him
Christ is esteemedby Zachary Uram

The Hunt
I am on the prowl
Looking for tasty fowlI roam the prairie
Looking carefullyI spot a lone turkey
I am filled with gleeI take aim with my bow
Hitting the bird with my arrowWe’ll have a tasty feast
Thanks to the beastVi cooked it up masterfully
The meat is succulent and juicyOur Thanksgiving was great
I had turkey piled on my plateby Zachary Uram

Nocturnal Meditations
When I lost
My mind
I found
Deep wounds
That bind
My soul was
Troubled
I didn’t know
Day from night
Such was my
Mental blight
I had no energy
To fight
But I had
Christ’s might
He soothed
A savage mind
I had real peace
Something before
I could
Never find
Now I am
Content
I struggle
Each day
But my
Spiritual debt
Was paid
On Calvary
By Christ’s
Sacrifice
Now my sins
Fade
Sanctification
Is God’s work
I no longer

I’m Thirsty

A nice
Refreshing drink
Saves me
From going over
The brink
Green tea
For me
With honey
And ginseng
Makes my heart
Sing
Coke is nice
With lots of ice
When I was four
Mommy gave us
Coke galore
The delicious
Coke syrup in
A glass bottle
Cured my
Tummy ache
Coke I shall
Not forsakeby Zachary Uram

The Pilgrims

These godly folks
Set sail
Aboard wooden ships
Some people were frailThey ventured far
To a new land
By the captain’s
Steady handMany of them were escaping
Religious persecution
A fresh start
Was the solutionThey traversed
Turbulent seas
Thanking God
On their kneesThe landed
At Plymouth Rock
Here their ship
Would dockThey established
A Christian theocracy
This form of government
Is purely godlyDuring the first winter
Many they could not revive
Native Americans
Taught them to surviveThe natives and pilgrims
Had a bountiful feast
They thanked God
From greatest to leastMillions of us
Are their kin
They all
Resisted sinIt was a
Utopian society
Homogeneous
They made historySadly our society
Is now pagan
And filled with the ungodly
May Christ hastenby Zachary Uram

Untitled
I lay in bed
And rest my weary headI try to slumber deep
But I cannot sleepI wish to dream
Of a clear blue streamI sleep for half a day
God keeps the demons at bayNow it’s time I wake

Demons

Demons
Come out at night
They cause me
Quite a frightThe demons blaspheme
They fly overhead
Right over
My bedThey are black
With red eyes
If you aren’t alert
They could hypnotizeI rebuke them
In the name of the Lord
They shriek in pain
As I wield the Spirit SwordIn Christ I am
More than a conqueror
The demons
Must surrenderThese demonic entities
Are not my imagination
They exist in reality
And cause me consternationby Zachary Uram

Afternoon in the Country
I entered
The carriage
I was new
To marriageWe went
At a slow pace
The cool autumn air
Caressed my faceWe traveled along
The country road
Passing quaint farms
We even spotted a toadWe had afternoon tea
At the grand hotel
Biscuits were eaten
I shared the gospelA husband and wife
Repented and turned
From their sins that day
Eternal life they receivedWe were soon
Back home
I began reading
A good tomeby Zachary Uram
