• A Mighty Redeemer

    I was lost at sea
    Drowning
    When Christ appeared
    Before me

    He was walking on water
    Christ defied
    The laws
    Of physics proper

    Christ sought me out
    On my own
    I could do nothing
This is a reason to shout

    God chose me
    Before the foundation
    Of the world
    To set me free

    Christ died for His elect
    His precious blood
    Made atonement
    For those God did select

    Faith and repentance
    Are gifts from God
    Regeneration precedes faith
    They are not happenstance

    Jesus was born
    Of a virgin
    In a stable
    On that cold December morn

    He is both
    Totally divine
    And totally human
    I swear it under oath

    Christ died on the cross
    At Calvary
    This great sacrifice
It seeme to be an utter loss

    But the grave
    Could not hold Him
On the third day He was resurrected
    By a supernatural energy wave

    Spread the Good News
    To both young and old
    Rich and poor
    Gentiles and Jews

    I will howl
    At the moon
    I’m stronger
    Than a typhoon
    I’m feeling
    Rather insane
    I have a
    Defective brain
    I will bray
    Like a jackass
    Who knows when
    This insanity
    Will pass
    I shall bark
    Like a dog
    And snort
    Like a hog

  • A Plea to Roman Catholics

    I’m a
    Modern Puritan
    It’s the
    Reformed religion

    I am a
    Reformed Baptist
    I rebuke
    Every Papist

    I affirm
    Baptism of believers
    Not baptism
    Of unbelievers

    Come out
    Of the Romish church
    Leave Catholic theology
    In the lurch

    Baptizing a baby
    Is of no good effect
    It just
    Gets them wet

    In the Romish church
    The true gospel was lost
    The Reformers recovered it
    At a high cost

    The Papists trusted
    In traditions of men
    It was
    A theological pigpen

    They trusted traditions
    Over God’s Word
    Obeyed a fallible Magisterium
    How absurd

    We have the 5 Solas
    To guide us
    They are
    A biblical compass

    Calvinism keeps
    Our understanding straight
    It respects God’s Word
    And gives it weight

    Share the gospel
    With Papists
    They must be born again
Not rely on a pope or priests

  • Born Again

    To be saved
    One must be
    Born from above
    Born by
    The Spirit
    Ye must be
    Born again
    Jesus told
    Nicodemus
    Salvation is
    All God
    And none man
    We do not
    Merit
    God’s grace
    It is wholly
    Monergistic
    We were
    Spiritually dead
    The Holy Spirit
    Quickens new life
    In us
    Our heart
    Of stone
    Is changed
    To a heart
    Of flesh
    Only those
    God predestined
    To be saved
    Will be
    God’s children
    Through adoption
    The Elect are
    Chosen by God
    According to
    His will
    Not because
    Of any intrinsic
    Quality or action
    On our part
    God commands us
    To repent and
    Believe
    The Gospel
    That Christ
    The sinless Messiah
    Died for our
    Sins
    On Calvary
    He is totally
    God
    And totally man
    He rose
    On the
    Third day
    Repentance
    And faith
    Are gifts
    Faith comes
    By hearing
    God’s Word

  • A Journey Into A Disturbed Mind

    Last night
    I was rather
    Stranged
    This morning
    I feel quite
    Deranged
    I am totally
    Psychotic
    I may seem
    Rather neurotic
    Alas
    My sanity
    Did wane
    I have
    A malfunctioning
    Brain
    My medications
    Are psychoactive
    They alter
    My perspective
    I will soon
    Be well
    As far as
    I can tell
    I will be
    The picture
    Of good
    Mental health
    I do not
    Need wealth
    I just need
    A sound mind
    Oh what a
    Treasure it
    Would be
    To find

  • Beverages

    I sip
    A glass
    Of iced
    Green tea
    With honey
    And ginseng
    It makes
    My taste buds
    Sing
    A glass of V-8
    Sure is fine
    It’s better
    Than wine
    White grape juice
    Is sure
    To please
    Just give those
    Grapes
    A good squeeze
    A Coke
    Is very nice
    I prefer it
    Served with ice
    Don’t forget
    Orange juice
    I like mine
    With some pulp
    I’ll drink it down
    In a big gulp
    I must not
    Forget
    Lemonade
    It’s sure
    To please
    Give those
    Lemons
    A good squeeze

  • Bear

    A grizzly bear
    Is on the prowl
    It’s famished
    Looking for fish or fowl

    It’s hungry
    And wants to eat
    A very tasty
    And succulent treat

    The mighty bear
    Goes up the mountain
    It wants salmon
    It needs the protein

    The stream is full
    Of huge salmon fish
    The bear eats them all
    So delish

    The bear discovers
A bee hive in a tree
    It’s a feast of honey
    The bear is happy

    It soon lays down
    For a long winter’s sleep
    It shall hibernate until spring
    A slumber so deep

  • My Salvation

    I was born again
    At age seven
    My fate was secure
    An eternity in Heaven

    I was a new creation
    Born from above
    It was all because
    Of Christ’s love

    He is my Redeemer
    A Savior so mighty
    Christ died for my sins
    At Calvary

    On the third day
    He rose
    It was me
    Christ chose

    The grave
    Couldn’t hold Him
    Angels sang
    A great hymn

    Behold
    The risen Christ
    He was
    Sacrificed

    Thanks to Christ
    I now have salvation
    This is due
    To His propitiation

    I shall live eternally
    With Christ my King
    Let the church bells
    Ring

  • A Fragmented Mind

    I was puffed up
    With arrogance and pride
    Also self-righteousness
    I was rather snide

    I had a strong intellect
    And much education
    But I was backslidden
    And faced tribulation

    God was merciful
    He broke me down completely
I lost my once cherished mind
I was the prodigal son certainly

    Delusions and hallucinations
    Became the norm
    But Christ saved me
    From that rough mental storm

    Slowly I regained
    My sanity
    In Christ
    I was totally free

    Now I have joy
    And peace that will last
    I stay anchored
    In His Word steadfast

    I speak to God
    In prayer
    I tell Him
    My every care

    I still deal
    With illness of the mind
    But I have a Redeemer
The best that one could find

    In my weakess
    Christ is strong
In Him I’m more than a conqueror
    This is my cherished song

  • Gastronomic Delights

    I sit down
    To a smorgasbord
    All of my favorites
    Ribeye steak
    Cooked medium well done
    With sauteed mushrooms
    And onions
    Fried chicken
    Sicilian pizza
    With anchovies
    And black olives
    Fish tacos
    Baked Alaskan salmon
    Spanish garlic shrimp
    Lobster tail
    With melted butter
    Tandoori chicken
    Chicken tikka masala
    With garlic naan
    Lamb curry
    Barbecued pork ribs
    A juicy cheeseburger
    With beefsteak tomato
    Freshly made guacamole
    With tortilla chips
    Chicken burrito
    Stuffed cabbage
    Stuffed green peppers
    Fresh kielbasa
    With horseradish
