• Blizzard

    Howling winds
    I walk into
    A maelstrom of snow
    The earth
    Blanketed
    In a soft coat
    Of white
    My face stings
    From the wind and snow
    I long
    For a warm home
    And a cup
    Of hot tea
    I trudge forward
    The wind is
    Now horizontal
    I start to lose
    My bearings
    I decide
    To go back home
    At last warmth
    As I sip my tea
    I contemplate
    The wonders
    Of God’s creation

  • Salvation According to Scripture

    In Adam man did fall
    Sin became endemic to all

We lost the image of God
Now man would plow the sod

    With sin came death
Man would draw his last breath

But out of love God sent His Son
To do for man what needed to be done

    At Calvary Jesus would die
    Mary His mother did cry

The Lamb of God was our sacrifice
    Oh what a high price

    Christ, totally sinless was He
    He set us free

All of our sin was imputed to the Lord
His perfect righteousness was to us inpoured

    Death was overcome by Him
The angels rejoiced with a hymn

Christ was risen on the third day
    Satan was in dismay

    Sinner repent
    Before your life is spent

Believe the Gospel of sovereign grace
It alone can save the human race

    We are God’s chosen Elect
    His praises we shall erect

The natural man is spiritually dead
Without Christ, death shall cause dread

    We must be born again
God chooses certain women and men

The Holy Spirit quickens us instantly
We are now a new creation totally

Spread the Gospel over the ends of the earth
Man will receive the second birth

  • A Christmas Poem

    We celebrate Christ’s birth
    With Christmas mirth

    Baby Jesus had to lay
In a stable on a bed of hay

Put up the wreaths and the holly
    May your Christmas be jolly

    Kiss under the mistletoe
    Let your love show

    Christ was sacrificed at Calvary
    His propitiation set man free

Jesus is the greatest gift we can receive
But to get it one must repent and believe

The Elect are from every tribe and race
We are saved by God’s sovereign grace

We are justified through faith alone
Predicated on the sacrifice Christ did atone

As we make merry, we should look ahead
For it is the empty tomb that Satan does dread

On Easter Sunday Christ was risen
by Christ’s power He did quicken

This Christmas may we rejoice at the incarnation
And thank God for our salvation

Share the Good News with both friend and foe
Contemplate these things as you watch it snow

  • A Shattered Dream

    That shining city
    Upon a hill
    America
    Generations found refuge
    Among it’s green pastures
    America stood for freedom
    Justice and liberty
    But things have changed
    Degeneracy rules
    Fifty million infants
    Had their lives snuffed out
    By mothers who were supposed
    To cherish and protect them
    Apostasy rules the churches
    In America
    God’s wrath will fall
    On this once Christian land

  • Thanksgiving

    I cherish the memories
    Of my childhood Thanksgivings
Going to Gramma’s for a feast
A huge 23 pound fresh turkey
I had white and dark meat
    Homemade stuffing
Twas the best I ever had
    And there was
    The turkey mushroom gravy
    So sublime
    Then we had mashed yams
    With marshmallows on top melted
    Homemade cranberry sauce
And macaroni salad pleased us all
Next came green beans with almonds
    Mashed potatoes that were heavenly
For dessert we had minced pie
And pumpkin pie with whipped cream
    I’ll never forget those Thanksgivings
    From so long ago
    My Gramma showed her love
    Through food

  • Christmas Morning

    Nothing could match
    The excitement
    Of Christmas morning
    We raced downstairs
    Our hearts pounding
    Filled with trepidation
    Eagerly anticipating
    What Santa Claus brought us
    The tension was palpable
    When we looked
    By our Christmas tree
    Our eyes grew wide
As we saw a mountain of gifts
    We raced upstairs at 6am
    To awake our parents
    Then back downstairs
    We all went
    We ripped open our gifts
    Each one a treasure
    Then we ate a piece
Of a birthday cake for Jesus
    We prayed and read the
    Christmas story in Luke
    Then we ate our cake
    With a big glass
Of eggnog with nutmeg on top
    Oh those childhood Christmases
    I will never forget them

  • Israel

    God made a unconditional covenant
    With Abraham
    Four thousand years ago
His favor with God continued to grow

    Abraham had twelve sons
All the land God gave them
    They inherited
Saved by faith through grace unmerited

    Soon there were twelve tribes
    All of them working together
    They possessed all the land
The nation of Israel did stand

    Many nations have attacked Israel
    But they were all defeated
    In every war
    Israel shall be the victor

    The Diaspora of people
Returned to the land of Israel
They continue to come from near and far
    Now blow the shofar

    The Jewish people stand strong
    They are God’s chosen
In the End Times they will convert en masse
    Their unbelief shall pass

Jesus came for the House of Israel
He is their long awaited Messiah
Let the star of David fly high
    Israel’s redemption draws nigh

  • Some Thoughts On Christmas

    Christ was born to save
    I am His willing slave
    He came because of love

The three magi traveled from afar
    They followed the Christmas star
From the Far East they came

In Bethlehem they beheld the Child
Jesus was so meek and mild
He was surrounded by animals in the stable

In a humble manger did He lay
On a bed of fresh hay
    The King of Kings

    Mary and Joseph were there
Looking upon baby Jesus with great care
    Christ was smiling at them

    Angels rejoiced, Alleluia they sang
    Heavenly bells outrang
Shepherds in the fields praised Him

The newborn babe was God incarnate
    Both natures separate
    Fully human and fully divine

    Let us rejoice
    With our heart and voice
Let there be peace and good will toward men

Christmas means so much to me
I love spending it with my family
Christ is the reason for the holiday season

    Being born again
We are freed from the power of sin
    We are adopted by God

It’s good to keep the Christmas spirit
Concerning the Gospel, may you hear it
    Repent sincerely and believe

  • Joyeux Noël

    Oh happy day
    We celebrate Christmas mirth
    Christ grants men second birth

    Ye must be born again
The Holy Spirit in your heart will dwell
    We rejoice in Jesus Emmanuel

    Hang the garlands
    And mistletoe
Let your love for mankind grow

    With the faith
    Of a mustard seed
    God will supply every need

    Look upon this holy Child
    The church bell rings
Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings

    In that humble stable
The Son of God was born
On that chilly first Christmas morn

    The Triune God
    Took on flesh
So that man may live afresh

    The Son of Man
Jesus Christ born to the virgin Mary
    He had no human Daddy

    We look ahead
    To Calvary
    Where Christ would suffer immensely

    He did it for love
    Our sins put Him there
    Sadly, most people don’t care

    Christ died for the Elect
    They were predestined before time
    Oh wonder so sublime

    Jesus was the sinless Lamb
Who gave up His life as a sacrifice
    Such a heavy price

    Christ took the full force
    Of God’s wrath
    This was His path

But the grave could not hold Him
Christ was resurrected on the third day
The empty grave was on full display

So this Christmas let us thank the Lord
For paying the price for our sin
    Let the festivities begin

  • Untitled poem

    My mind
    Has expanded
    Beyond the confines
    Of my body
    I think
    In higher dimensional
    Spacetime
    No limits
    Freedom
    My thoughts are racing
    At superluminal speeds
    Must focus
    Maintain control
    So much raw power
    My energy
    Is off the charts
