Springtime Walk

I took a walk
Outside today
I was feeling
Rather gay

I walked
Down the road
And spotted
A toad

I saw a hawk
Flying high
Swooping by my head
As I walked by

I next saw
A pristine lake
I wished that swimming
I could partake

I saw a falcon
Circling its prey
The bird would eat
A hare today

I noticed the air was fresh
I smelled flowers wild
The aroma was heavenly
Fit for man or child

I came across
A massive oak tree
On the ground lay acorns
As far as the eye could see

I sat under the oak
And contemplated life
I relish peace
And calm with no strife

I finally walked back home
No longer would I roam
I sat in a comfy chair
And began reading a large tome
