These godly folks
Set sail
Aboard wooden ships
Some people were frail
They ventured far
To a new land
By the captain’s
Steady hand
Many of them were escaping
Religious persecution
A fresh start
Was the solution
They traversed
Turbulent seas
Thanking God
On their knees
The landed
At Plymouth Rock
Here their ship
Would dock
They established
A Christian theocracy
This form of government
Is purely godly
During the first winter
Many they could not revive
Native Americans
Taught them to survive
The natives and pilgrims
Had a bountiful feast
They thanked God
From greatest to least
Millions of us
Are their kin
They all
Resisted sin
It was a
Utopian society
Homogeneous
They made history
Sadly our society
Is now pagan
And filled with the ungodly
May Christ hasten
