A Poem for St. Patrick’s Day

The shamrock
Green and proud
Symbolizing
Irish people
Three leaf clovers
Patrick used
To teach pagans
The Trinity
Kiss
The Blarney stone
This emerald isle
A people who
Resisted tyranny
Bruised and beaten
But not conquered
The Irish monks
Preserved
The Gospel
And Scripture
During
The Dark Ages
We owe them
Much
I take pride
In being Irish
May she forever
Follow Christ
