A Day in the Park

I walk in the park
It’s a beautiful spring day
Overhead I spot a lark

It’s singing a sweet melody
I whistle back at it
It’s performing just for me

The park is teeming with life
Lush green plants, trees, and animals
There is no apparent strife

I spot chipmunks, squirrels
And rabbits too
In the wind a lone leaf whirls

I come across a beautiful lake
It’s so serene
Some yummy fish I must take

After catching a big bass
I roast it over a fire
All I needed was a lovely white lass

I head for home
A lot was accomplished today
No longer do I have to roam
