I step outside
On a cool autumn day
The sky is gray
Colored leaves
Crunch as I tread
I spot a raven up ahead
My Irish knit wool sweater
Keeps me warm all-day
I sip a pumpkin spice latte
A cold rain begins
My umbrella keeps me dry
I get a hot slice of pizza pie
Walking back home I feel alive
I love these days of fall
There is peace in nature after all
I curl up
By the fire
Waiting for sleep to transpire
I will dream
Of turkey and pumpkin pie
Wishing for more halcyon days to come nigh
