Happy Reformation Day

Today is October 31st, 2024. It marks 507 years since the Roman Catholic Augustinian friar, Martin Luther, nailed his 95 theses to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Looking back, historians recognize this day as the catalyst for the Protestant Reformation.

The Reformation was not a revolution. It sought to reform the existing Roman Catholic church. When that became impossible, the Protestant Church was formed.

The Reformation was a return to the sound doctrine of Scripture, that had been obscured and neglected in the prior centuries.

To ensure we follow Scripture as our basis for doctrine and praxis, the principle of Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone as our highest authority) is essential to safeguard sound doctrine. We reject the fallible traditions of men which have accumulated in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches.

Our doctrine is truly apostolic.
