The Joys of My Youth

Oh how I miss
Those halcyon days
My carefree youth
When my mind
Was whole
A time of
Innocence
Before I fathomed
The cruel depths
Of evil
Human depravity
And degeneracy
My sisters
And I
Played outside
We did games
Like Red Rover
And Hide and Go Seek
We collected
Cicada shells
On trees
We danced
Under the sprinkler
We made
Mud pies
We played
Whiffle ball
We made up
Stories
We laughed
I will never
Forget
Those special
Days
