The sun
Blazes down
Scorching
The earth
It blinds
My vision
The high
Humidity
Is oppressive
I’m drenched
In sweat
My mouth
Is parched
I feel
Disoriented
I sip a glass
Of ice cold
Homemade
Lemonade
I go swimming
In our pool
The cool water
Is refreshing
I eat a piece
Of juicy
Watermelon
I lay in
My bed
The air conditioner
Is blasting
I fall asleep
I wake up
Fifteen hours
Later
Ready for
Another
Summer day
