Shakespeare

I took a trip
Through time
To visit the bard
Whose writing is sublime

Shakespeare
Is his name
He is preeminent
In English literature, full of fame

He’s written
Many a superb play
There is no writer like him
I can read his works all day

Shakespeare’s poetry
Is top notch
When I read it
I forget to check my watch

The plays of Macbeth
And Hamlet, I love
Shakespeare was born
From above

I watched the play
Of Julius Caesar
It made
My mind keener

Such mastery of language
We shall never see again
Shakespeare’s genius is unequaled
His work we shall never attain
