A Spring Day

I walked outside
On a beautiful spring day
Happiness was coming my way

Birds chirped
From up high
I saw a gorgeous blue sky

I admired
The tulips I saw
I was in awe

People were outside
Walking their dogs
I even spied some pet hogs

I listened to music
On my trusty Walkman
Bach’s Magnificat, I’m a fan

I saw mothers with their babies
So cute
I heard an owl go hoot

I went to Mineo’s Pizza
In Squirrel Hill
I paid the bill

I walked
Through Schenley Park
I stayed until it got dark

I got home
And went to bed
The day’s memories in my head
