Sea Journey

I set sail
On the stormy sea
I yearn to be free

My trusty craft
Endures many a wave
It’s me God will save

Christ beckons me
To join him on the water
I step out and don’t falter

I see
A humped-back whale
It must have many a tale

The ocean continues
To rage and swell
Out of my craft, I almost fell

A lone seagull
Flies by
Time goes by slowly – I wonder why

Suddenly
The sea is calm
My journey has been a spiritual balm

Back at home
I think fondly
Of my time at sea
