It was a dark and cold
Winter’s day
I felt a bit of dismay
I was walking outside
Enjoying the crisp air
No longer did I despair
The pure white snow reminded me that
In Christ, God doesn’t see our sin
Because Jesus made a propitiation
I went shopping for Christmas
In some nice local shops
For dinner, I bought lamb chops
The streets downtown
Were filled with holiday shoppers
Strung up were lights of many colors
People were cheerful
Displaying holiday mirth
Thankfully, they received a second birth
Later in the day, my sister Vi and I
Went on a sleigh ride
On the houses were decorations we spied
Back at home, Vi and I relaxed
With Schneider’s eggnog
We soon slept and dreamed agog
