Overcoming Depression: My Story of Struggle and Growth

My energy is totally depleted
I feel utterly defeated

I am down in the dumps
I have to take my lumps

I feel so depressed today
I am full of dismay

Listen to my sad tale
I lie in bed like a beached whale

Time moves on slowly
My mental state is sickly

I long to play and run
I really need some fun

I take medication, you see
It helps my mind truly

One day, my mind will be whole
Then I won’t have to live on the dole
