I walked into a nearby forest
It was huge, with trees as far as I could see
I would spend the day there
Connecting with nature makes me happy
Mighty oak and maple trees stand tall
Silent sentinels of times past
Season after season, they remain
For many centuries, these trees will last
I came across a placid lake
The blue water was crystal clear
I jumped into the lake
Without any fear
Later, I saw a white-tailed buck
He had 16-point antlers, you see
He quickly scampered off
I felt peace and serenity
I came across an owl
Sitting on a tree
It flew away
I guess it was scared of me
I sat down beneath a tree with moss
The plush green grass was relaxing
I fell asleep for a couple of hours
When I woke up, I went fishing
In a nearby stream
Were rainbow trout galore
I caught a few for dinner
My stomach wanted more
The sun was setting
I got in my car and drove away
I thank God for His wondrous creation
Thankful for the memories I created today
