Pilgrim

I walked along
A path darkened
I had the weight
Of sins
Holding me down
It was crushing
God seemed
So distant
In despair
I languished
I felt hopeless
Life was
A chore
My depression
Made me
Feel numb
I read Scriptures
And the Gospel
Came alive to me
I cast
My burdens
On Christ
I cried out
To the Lord
And I sincerely
Repented
For all my sins
In a moment
The Holy Spirit
Quickened my soul
I was born again
No longer
A slave to sin
All my sins
Were completely
Forgiven
Past, present
And future
In Christ
There is
Deep peace
And true freedom
