I have severe mental illness
For the past 25 years
For many nights I had
Lots of tears
Psychotropic drugs
I take every day
Psychoactive drugs also
For my mental health I pray
I battle major depression
Every single day
I’m lethargic often
It’s not okay
I have delusions
And hallucinations
It’s because of
My broken mind’s machinations
Schizophrenia is rough
I try to cope as best I can
But thanks to Jesus
I have a plan
I meditate on God’s Word
Prayer helps me a lot
When I’m feeling low
I thank the Lord for what I got
Sometimes I have psychosis
It’s a terrible thing to endure
I must keep fighting
Until there is a cure
