I Love and Miss You, Daddy

I’m trapped
In an ocean of sorrow
I pray and hope for
A better tomorrow

I am pounded
By waves of grief
I wonder if
I’ll never get relief

Precious memories
Of my father, I cherish
I asked for prayers
At my parish

My days are spent
In tears
I have many
Hopes and fears

My bereavement could last
For the rest of my years
I have no mindset
For merriment and cheers

I know God is faithful
I trust in Christ alone
It’s been so many days
Since the sun shone
