Joyeux Noël

Oh happy day
We celebrate Christmas mirth
Christ grants men second birth

Ye must be born again
The Holy Spirit in your heart will dwell
We rejoice in Jesus Emmanuel

Hang the garlands
And mistletoe
Let your love for mankind grow

With the faith
Of a mustard seed
God will supply every need

Look upon this holy Child
The church bell rings
Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings

In that humble stable
The Son of God was born
On that chilly first Christmas morn

The Triune God
Took on flesh
So that man may live afresh

The Son of Man
Jesus Christ born to the virgin Mary
He had no human Daddy

We look ahead
To Calvary
Where Christ would suffer immensely

He did it for love
Our sins put Him there
Sadly, most people don’t care

Christ died for the Elect
They were predestined before time
Oh wonder so sublime

Jesus was the sinless Lamb
Who gave up His life as a sacrifice
Such a heavy price

Christ took the full force
Of God’s wrath
This was His path

But the grave could not hold Him
Christ was resurrected on the third day
The empty grave was on full display

So this Christmas let us thank the Lord
For paying the price for our sin
Let the festivities begin
