My Struggle With Mental Illness

In the garden
Of Gethsemane, Jesus wept
He sweat blood
While the Apostles slept

I have a
Vast ocean
It is comprised of
Powerful emotion

I feel things
Very deeply
My affections
Are felt intensely

I often battle
Melancholy
I pray for God’s help
I must be holy

I have psychosis
It is very disconcerting
I take my medication
It can be excruciating

I have
Bad anxiety
It isn’t easy
Interacting socially

I sometimes have a
Dissociative episode
My mind phases out of time
It’s a hard road

I get delusions
All the time
They are
Not sublime

I have constant
Inner voices
I need
God’s graces

  1. I understand your struggle. I pray God is with you and heals the bad voices and visions. I once had bad mental health. Remember that I love you!
