My Day in The Snow

I awoke
To a landscape of white
It snowed
All day and night

A winter wonderland
Was before my eyes
The snow seemed
To reach the skies

With my trusty snow shoes
I set out on a trek
I heard a woodpecker
On the oak tree, it did peck

Bitter cold air
Stung my lung
I felt alive
Caught a snowflake on my tongue

The snow shimmered
Under morning light
It was a dazzling display
Quite the sight

A white Christmas
We had this year
I love this season
Of peace and good cheer
